Call for Proposals
Namaskar everyone!
San Diego Maharashtra Mandal is very excited to provide its members, friends and
San Diego's Maharashtrian community a platform to showcase their talent and perform
at the various cultural events planned for the year 2010. To this end, we would
like to invite proposals from the community members, interested artists, performers
and entertainers keen on participating.
SDMM is a community non-profit organization representing over 200 Maharashtrian
families in the greater San Diego area. SDMM events are advertised and publicized
throughout the Indian community of San Diego and are always well attended. Our primary
goal is to promote Maharashtrian culture and traditions, and in keeping to this
mission, SDMM encourages artists/talent/performers to provide content/performances
in Marathi language but will also consider proposals in other languages based on
their merit and relevance.

Proposal Guidelines
Categories:
Dance : Classical, Semi-Classical, Contemporary/Modern, Lok-Nrutya, or any combination
thereof
Drama : Ekankika, Skits, Solo/Mono-act, Feature-length Natak, Lok-Natya
Music : Classical, Semi-Classical, Instrumental, Sugam-Sangeet, Bhav-Geete, Chitrapat-Sangeet,
Natya-Sangeet, Lok-Sangeet, or any combination thereof
Comedy : Mimicry, Stand-up, Sit-com/Farce
Culture/Religious : Pravachan, Keertan, Dnyaneshwari/Dasbodh rasgrahan
Education/infotainment : Kathakathan, Vyakhyan/Lecture, Bouddhik, Quiz show, Poetry
Kids/Junior members: Solo Instrumentals; any relevant programming from any of the
above categories
